3.6 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Up Residents

The U.S. Geological Survey conformed a 3.6 magnitude earthquake hit just east of Enid Friday.

ENID, Oklahoma -- The U.S. Geological Survey conformed a 3.6 magnitude earthquake hit just east of Enid Friday.

Several residents called NEWS 9, some living as close as Edmond, to report serious shaking.

The quake hit in Garfield County about 20 miles east of Enid, 59 miles north of Oklahoma City and 7 miles north east of Covington around 4:23 p.m.

There have been no reports of damage. Many residents described the quake as a loud rumble of thunder.
