OKLAHOMA CITY - Authorities said alcohol may have played a role in a drowning at Lake Thunderbird late Thursday night.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers said 36-year-old Johnny Ray Montoya was camping with a group of people when he decided to go for a swim. He was last seen about 60 feet from shore when he went under and never resurfaced.
Search crews recovered his body at about 3 p.m. Friday.
Troopers said Montoya and others at the campsite had been drinking prior to the incident.
