Man Drowns in Edmond Pool

EDMOND, Oklahoma - A man died after jumping into a pool at a metro apartment complex, Edmond Police Spokeswoman Glynda Chu said.

At about 12:45 p.m. police were called to the scene where Mareyano Asefaw, 22, jumped into the pool at the Boulder Creek Apartments, 3621 Wynn Drive, where he and his wife lived.

Asefaw was taken to Edmond Regional Hospital and pronounced dead there at about 1:34 p.m.

Asefaw was originally from Ethiopia and had only lived with his newly wedded wife since March.

Police do not suspect foul play.
