ENID, Oklahoma -- Two Enid police officers are suspended with pay while state agents investigate allegations of criminal misconduct.

The allegations arose following the two officers' testimony during the double murder trial of Rudarty Redbone Archilta, Sr.

Last week, a Garfield County judge acquitted Archilta for the July 2007 murders of Beulah Hodges and Pamela Jean LeClair.

Enid police asked authorities to investigate the officers after they testified in the case.

"The officers have been informed that on completion of the criminal investigation, the administrative investigation will commence," said Captain Jack Morris.

Archilta's attorney, Gary Henry, said flaws made by the Enid Police Department during the investigation played a part in the verdict but a lack of evidence was the main reason for his client's not-guilty verdict.

The department will not name the officers involved.
