1 Person Killed in Multi-Car Crash on Southbound I-44

OKLAHOMA CITY -- One person was killed in a multi-car crash on I-44 southbound and N.W. 16th Street Thursday.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a driver traveling southbound on I-44 hit another vehicle traveling southbound. That vehicle departed the roadway hitting another car that was pulled over on the side of the highway causing a chain reaction that killed one man.

Hayden Walker, 54, was outside of his car changing his daughter's flat tire when he was hit and pinned between two of the vehicles. He died of his injuries.

One other person suffered minor injures in the crash.

I-44 southbound was down to one lane at N.W. 23rd Street while crews cleaned up the scene.

The crash backed up traffic for several miles.
