Mike Thompson Endorses James Lankford for Congress

OKLAHOMA CITY -- State Representative Mike Thompson released a statement today endorsing James Lankford in the runoff for Congress. Thomas is a former candidate for the 5th Congressional District.

"On August 24, voters in Central Oklahoma will have the opportunity to make a critical decision...James Lankford is the transformative leader we need. James comes from outside politics and brings a perspective desperately needed in Washington. He doesn't claim to know how Washington works because, like me, he doesn't believe it does. He's honest, straightforward and unlike many politicians, his conservative values won't change with the environment. While I have respect for all of the Republican candidates who ran for the 5th district, I respectfully ask you to join me in voting for James Lankford on August 24."

Republicans James Lankford and Kevin Calvey will meet in an Aug. 24 primary runoff election for U.S. House District 5, which represents Oklahoma City.

Neither candidate received the majority of votes needed to win their party's nomination in a crowded field which included Mike Thompson, Harry Johnson, Rick Flanigan, Johnny Roy and Shane Jett.
