What is your reason for running?
“I am a lifelong conservative Republican, 42 years old and have been married to Cindy for 18 years. We have two beautiful daughters, Hannah (13) and Jordan (10). After months of prayer, my family sensed a clear calling to this task. Our nation stands at the crossroads of liberty. Crushing national debt, rampant illegal immigration, insane business regulations and staggering national unemployment are pushing our nation into uncharted territory. The Constitution, which has stood as the foundation of our laws and the fence around our government, faces increasing challenges and redefining. The United States became the greatest and strongest nation in the world because of God's blessing, our constitutionally protected freedom, free markets and American innovation.”
Why should Oklahomans vote for you?
“I am a strong Conservative voice with real world leadership and business experience which includes hiring and managing a large staff, balancing a budget and working long hours. I am committed to ethics and reform and have received the endorsements of JC Watts and Governor Mike Huckabee. I want to bring down our national debt, limit the role of the federal government and serve Oklahoma families with integrity. Now is not the time to send a career politician seeking their “next office;” now is the time to send a new Conservative voice who will go to work protecting our Constitution and our families. For more information call 509.1182 or visit www.JamesLankford.com or the James Lankford Facebook page.”
What is your political experience?
“I am coming from the private sector, not the political world. Since 1996, I directed Falls Creek youth camp, the largest Christian camp in the nation with all the complexity of a large company and the challenges of a huge non-profit. While I was director at Falls Creek, the camp experienced the greatest growth of its 90+ year history. I have spent my life leading and challenging the next generation.”
