OKLAHOMA CITY -- They went to Africa to build water wells and now a group of professionals from the state are reaching out to veterans.
Pros For Vets, which includes lawyers, retired military leaders, and NLF players Roy Williams and Tommie Harris, will work with veterans dating back to World War II.
Statistics show more and more vets are coming home from the current wars with post-traumatic stress disorders, and more soldiers are dying from suicide than in combat.
Organizers said it's important to work with vets long after everyone else has recognized their service.
"These guys come home, we celebrate they're back, but then they still need help months, years sometimes, after they come home," said Lauren Guhl, Pros For Vets.
