OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City police said someone shot several bullets at a northwest Oklahoma City home Sunday morning, narrowly missing several children inside.
Police said a woman called police after she hear several loud noises around 4 a.m. Sunday. When she went to check on her children, she saw smoke in the room. She also saw several small bullet holes in the children's window, however, the children were not injured.
When police arrived at the home on N.W. 85th Street, they discovered five bullet holes in the windows. Police said at least two of the shots came within inches of the sleeping children.
"There was smoke in the room. There was glass on the children," said Oklahoma City Police MSgt. Gary Knight. "Officers on the scene found rounds that had come through the children's room and actually missed the children by just a matter of inches. But thankfully no one was hit."
The woman said she has a protective order against her ex-boyfriend, but she does not think he would shoot at the children's room, according to a police report.
No injuries were reported.
Anyone with information about this crime should call Oklahoma City Crime Stoppers at 405-235-7300.
