OKLAHOMA CITY -- A Florida woman who pleaded guilty to driving to Oklahoma with the intent of having sex with a boy she met on-line last year has been sentenced to prison.
Annamay Alexander, 45, of Deltona, Florida, was sentenced Wednesday to serve 87 months in federal prison by United States District Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange. Alexander pleaded guilty last August to grand jury charges of traveling to Oklahoma to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor.
Alexander met the teen through a video gaming console in December of 2009. She continued to communicate with him via e-mail, text messages, cell phone and web camera. She traveled to Oklahoma January 9, 2010, to have sex with the 14-year-old.
The charges were originally investigated by Oklahoma City Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation after the boy's mother found suspicious messages and suggestive photographs on his cell phone.
Judge Miles-LaGrange ordered Alexander to serve five years of supervised release following her prison term, and she must register as a sex offender.
