OKLAHOMA CITY -- The earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan are a disaster for that nation, but it will have little impact upon U.S. dealerships that sell Japanese cars.

Toyota plants in Japan are shut down for the next three days, but Mike Fowler of Fowler Toyota in Norman isn't worried about disruptions to the supply chain.

"There's about 40,000 vehicles that will be effected during the shutdown," Fowler  said. "Toyota sells over 8 million vehicles worldwide, so you're looking at way less than one percent of the number of vehicles that will be effected by this."

Fowler said that more than half of the Toyotas produced are assembled in the United States.
