STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- Dozens of people lined the streets in Stillwater Wednesday morning to send off some of Oklahoma's finest.
About 300 members of the Oklahoma National Guard are now on their way to Mississippi where they'll train before deploying to Afghanistan.
The troops boarded buses and got a police escort as friends and family lined the streets to say goodbye.
"We're very, very proud of him. We miss him very much when he's gone, but our boys and his parents, we all just, we're very proud. We're proud of all of the soldiers who go," said Kesha Flurry, whose husband is deploying to Afghanistan.
The group will be home next spring.
