Police Working Disturbance At Lake Thunderbird Camping Area

Norman, Oklahoma -- Police are investigating what was first reported as a possible suicide in trailer camper at Lake Thunderbird.

The situation began when Piedmont police received a call from the son of a couple living in the camper trailer at Clear Bay Campground at 13800 E. State Highway 9 on Lake Thunderbird. The son told police hid dad had called to tell him his mother had killed herself and he was going to kill himself also.

When police arrived, they found a woman dead inside. Police were able to persuade the man to put down his gun and come outside to speak with officers.
