OKLAHOMA CITY -- The fight happened at a park in the Lansbrook addition Wednesday afternoon near MacArthur and Britton Road.

It was all caught on cell phone video and posted on Facebook.

At the center of attention are two Hefner Middle School students shoving and punching each other in the face. Neighbors said this is not the first time these fights have happened, and they are scared it won't be the last.

The cell phone video shows a group of kids screaming at a local park. Kids watching the fight laugh and cheer the girls on.

The fight lasts for about 30 seconds before a parent shows up, and the kids run off.

For fear of reprisals, all the residents interviewed for this story asked to remain anonymous.

"It's scary. It's very scary. You never know if they go down in the park and do this, you never know what they're going to do to your house," one said.

Other residents who live in the Lansbrook addition said Wednesday's violence is not an isolated incident.

"There have been other fights. There have been drug dealings. I know this last one was bad and a lot of residents are concerned about it."

"It worries us. We've lived here for many, many years and didn't used to have this. And now, in the last three to four years, it's getting worse and worse all the time."

Residents say there are two apartments in the area and they say they see a lot of unfamiliar faces traveling through their neighborhood.

"I'd like to see our security beefed up so we don't have to sit around and worry. We didn't used to have to lock up our doors like we do now."

Jim Duncan, president of the Lansbrook Homeowners Association said their board voted to increase security patrols in the neighborhood to better protect residents and their properties.

Steve Lindley, the spokesman for Putnam City Public Schools, said school officials were aware of the fight. The students involved were brought in for mediation to work out any problems they had with each other.

Lindley could not comment on any disciplinary measures that may have been taken with the students.
