EDMOND, Oklahoma – Edmond police are searching for a masked man who apparently celebrated Cinco De Mayo by robbing a fast food Mexican restaurant.
The man – who had a bandana tied around part of his face -- walked into the Taco Mayo at 2000 S. Broadway just after 10 p.m. Thursday. Employees told police the man pointed a semi-automatic pistol at a worker and demanded money from the cash register at the front counter.
Once the robber received the money, he ordered the employees to empty the cash from the register at the drive-thru window.
Witnesses said while the robber was shouting demands, he worked the slide on the pistol at least once.
After grabbing all the cash, the man left the restaurant and was seen running southbound on Broadway.
Employees said his last words to them were, "Have a nice evening, gentlemen."
The robber is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall. He weighs about 200 pounds and was last seen wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, and blue and black gloves.
Anyone with information should call the Edmond Police Department.
