OKLAHOMA CITY -- Severe weather and a water shortage have forced schools in Piedmont and Shawnee to cancel classes Wednesday.
A massive tornado roared through Piedmont Tuesday afternoon, destroying dozens of homes and buildings. Because of the damage, classes were canceled Wednesday for Piedmont Public Schools.
Classes in Shawnee Public Schools have also been canceled Wednesday, but not because of the weather.
A water main break in Shawnee has residents facing a water shortage.

A major water main that pumps water into the treatment plant has burst, not allowing in more water into the plant.
Authorities say there is less than 2 hours worth of water left in storage. They also say it will take around 12 hours to make repairs.
Residents of Shawnee are to expect a water outage for 12 to 24 hours.
