OKLAHOMA CITY – News 9 has been nominated for several Emmys by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Heartland Chapter.
News 9 was nominated in four categories:

On June 14, 2010, SkyNews 9 Pilot Mason Dunn spotted a teenager swimming from tree to tree in floodwaters. Raquel Dawson was walking to work when she saw a woman who was stranded in her car. When Raquel tried to help, the water swept her away.
"I started shaking really bad while I was swimming, and I thought I was going to pass out," said Dawson. "I thought I was going to die."

Business/Consumer - News Single Story: "'Temporary' Tattoo?"

For Mason Dickerson, a high school senior, getting the name "Kylie" on his back didn't seem like a big deal. After all, this tattoo was supposed to be temporary.
Never did he think within a week, his back would have a huge red rash. So his mother took him straight to the doctor.

Politics/Government-News Single Story: "Lawmakers Travel"

California, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia, even Cuba and Canada are just some of the places lawmakers went using taxpayers' money. Lawmakers spent $1.5 million on travel, more than $155,000 to go out of state. The Oklahoma Impact Team learned about these trips while reviewing travel records for 2009.
