OKLAHOMA CITY -- The RedHawks' pitching was bit get again Monday, holding Memphis to just two runs and allowing Oklahoma City to complete the four-game sweep with an 8-2 win.
RedHawks' (46-57) starter Sergio Perez (5-9) was shaky early, giving up a two-run home run in the top of the first inning, but pitched four scoreless innings to finish his outing. Oklahoma City answered with Brian Bogusevic RBI double in the bottom of the third and a three-run triple from J.B. Shuck in the bottom of the fourth to take a 4-2 lead.
Perez was pulled after the top of the fifth, and was credited with a win for the outing, giving up two earned runs on seven hits in five full innings of service.
Memphis starter Maikel Cleto was pulled in the bottom of the fifth after a Colin DeLome single to right field brought Bogusevic home from third to give the RedHakws a 5-0 lead. Cleto finished with five earned runs on five hits in four innings.
Three batters later, Koby Clemens singled to left field to bring Anderson Hernandez home from second and extend the RedHakws' lead to six runs. Hernandez and DeLome added two more insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth to rule out a comeback.
Oklahoma City will now continue its 12-game home stand with a four-game tilt against the Nashville Sounds, starting at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday.
