OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office dispatchers were able to track down a kidnapping victim who dialed 911 but couldn't speak directly to them.
Investigators say the woman and her infant child were abducted by the woman's boyfriend, 42-year-old Timothy Edmiston. The woman tells investigators Edmiston forced her into a car. She says he took several prescription pills and was falling asleep behind the wheel. She also says while Edmiston was driving, he was physically abusing her.
The victim managed to call 911 on her cell phone, but she could not speak directly to dispatchers. During the call, dispatchers could hear the man attacking, cursing and threatening the woman. The victim also managed to give details about her location.
After several minutes, deputies tracked the victim and Edmiston to E. Britton Road and N. Westminister in Oklahoma City. Deputies arrested Edmiston on complaints of kidnapping, domestic abuse in the presence of a child, driving under the influence of drugs, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Edmiston is now in the Oklahoma County Jail.
