GRADY COUNTY, Oklahoma – A one-vehicle accident in Grady County claimed the life of a Lawton, Oklahoma man early Sunday morning, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Fifty-one-year-old Bobby Leon Hunt Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene and was later transported to Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Newcastle.
According to the accident report, a Ford Pickup truck driven by Hunt was eastbound on H.E. Bailey Turnpike. Troopers say Hunt was possibly reading a text message when the truck got off the roadway, struck a guardrail, and rolled one and half times.
Hunt was pinned in the truck for about one hour before being freed by Bridgecreek Fire Department.
Troopers say Hunt was wearing a seatbelt. They have determined the cause of the collision to be distraction inside the vehicle.
