BETHANY, Oklahoma – The Oklahoma City-County Health Department's Child Guidance Division is offering "The Incredible Years", a free series of parenting classes in Bethany, Oklahoma, starting from September 7.
The parenting group will meet every Wednesday at 6 p.m. for 13 weeks, at the First Baptist Church of Bethany, located at 3800 N. Mueller Street.
According to the health department, the program will help parents learn new skills in interacting with their young children ages three through six. It is designed to help promote and enhance good parent-child relationships.
"By learning effective parenting approaches, parents can strengthen their children's social and emotional competence and help children become more successful in school," says Katherine Broekhuysen, OCCHD Child Guidance specialist .
The health department will also provide free child care during the meetings. However, registration is required for each participant and space is limited.
To register for this free parenting class or for more information, contact Broekhuysen at (405)-425-4390.
