Texas Driver Dies After Suffering Medical Condition On U.S. 59

A 73-year-old man from Mineola, Texas died after he suffered a medical condition and wrecked his car on U.S. Highway 59 in Leflore County, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

LEFLORE COUNTY, Oklahoma – A 73-year-old man from Mineola, Texas died after he suffered a medical condition and wrecked his car on U.S. Highway 59 in Leflore County, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The incident happened at 10:27 p.m. Friday, about three miles west of Sprio on U.S. 59. According to the accident report, Edward Ermey was pronounced dead at the scene due to the unknown medical condition he had suffered.

Troopers said Ermey was driving 2001 Buick, westbound on U.S. 59 when he suffered the medical condition. The car then ran off the roadway to the right and struck a culvert. Ermey was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
