EDMOND, Oklahoma – The Santa Fe Wolves' 2-0 start was a world of difference from last year, but even that momentum couldn't stand up to the powerhouse Midwest City Bombers.

Midwest City topped the Wolves 27-6 on Friday night at Wantland Stadium thanks in large part to TU commit James Flanders.

Flanders had three touchdowns and also pulled in an interception to help the Bombers start off the year 3-0.

Both teams went scoreless in the first quarter, Flanders started things off in the second with an 8-yard touchdown run. After a blocked punt on a following possession, Flanders walked in again for a short score to give his team a 12-0 lead.

With just seconds remaining in the third quarter, Bombers quarterback Joel Davis hooked up on a long pass to Zac Brannon, who pulled it down in the corner of the endzone. The Bombers completed the two-point conversion to take a 20-0 lead into the break.

With the game essentially in hand, Flanders put it out of reach for good with his third touchdown of the night after setting up the possession with an interception.

Trevan Smith picked up Santa Fe's only touchdown of the night with a run in the fourth quarter to cut the lead to 27-6, but that would be the final margin.

The Wolves (2-1) will host Westmoore on Sept. 23, while Midwest City will travel to Yukon.
