Construction Causes Major Traffic Back-Up On I-44

OKLAHOMA CITY – Construction work has caused the westbound traffic on Interstate 44 near Oklahoma City to back up for miles Saturday evening.

According to a spokesman for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, the five-mile long stretch of construction work narrowed the turnpike traffic to only one lane between mile markers 141 and 146.

Motorists have reported long waits in the stop-and-go traffic from Wellston to Oklahoma City.
