OKLAHOMA CITY – A woman says she feels God was watching over her when a car smashed through her bedroom wall early Wednesday morning in northwest Oklahoma City.
Around 1:30 a.m., a driver crashed into Susie Thornton's apartment near N.W. 39th Street and Meridian. Thornton said she saw the headlights shining just moments before the vehicle barreled into her bedroom.
"I was asleep and all of a sudden I saw a bright light and [heard] a big boom. It was like the end of the world."
Fortunately, Thornton's bed was on the opposite wall and she wasn't hurt. Moments after the crash, the driver backed up and drove off. Police have not caught the person and they have not released a description of the car.
Thornton said this is the second time in five years a driver has crashed into her apartment. She says she now plans to move.
