Norman detectives were called to a home in the 2000 block of Barton Street in Norman after family members discovered their deceased loved one.
According to police spokesperson Capt. Tom Easley, the family of the deceased man went to check on their loved one Monday morning and found him dead inside his home. Police said the man was in his 80's.
Detectives are treating the death as suspicious after finding some evidence of a struggle within the home. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
The possibility of a murder is putting a community on edge. With so many questions, residents in this area said they are concerned with a possibility of a killer on the loose.
"My heart goes out for them for sure," said neighbor Matt Serlo. "Especially if it was a murder. It's crazy. It's kind of scary. But I parked my truck in the garage just in case. You never know."
Investigators are not releasing the name of the deceased at this time.
