OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City Police are searching for the driver who slammed into the side of an apartment building in northwest Oklahoma City, nearly hitting a sleeping girl.
A couple living near N.W. 57th Street and May says they were preparing to go to bed Wednesday night when they heard a loud boom. A truck had crashed through the wall of their living room and was sitting just a few feet from their 5-year-old daughter.
Melanie Gafford says the truck was stuck, and the driver caused even more damage by trying to drive away.
"They kept hitting the wall, and it finally caved in," said Gafford. "I was, like, yelling for my daughter. My husband goes out there real quick and grabs her because the first thing that came to my mind was it's gonna kill my daughter!"
The little girl was not hurt. The driver managed to pull out of the debris and drive away, but the suspect slammed into two parked cars before finally leaving the apartment complex.
Police say the suspect was driving a late 1990s model Ford F-150. Its color was either white or silver. Police say no one was able to give a description of the driver because the truck had dark, tinted windows.
