Authorities say all lanes of Interstate 40 in the Oklahoma City area were reopened after crews blocked access to the highway when a semi carrying a hazardous material overturned.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, all lanes of I-40 at between Council Road and Mustang Road are now back open.

The ODOT says the interstate was closed just after 1 p.m. Saturday after the truck overturned and spilled calcium carbide. Officials say calcium carbide is highly flammable when wet.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Betsy Randolph says she hadn't received any reports of injuries as a result of the initial accident.
