Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant has been named the Western Conference Player of the week after leading the team to a 5-0 start to the season.
Durant averaged a Western Conference-best 27.4 points while shooting 54.7 percent from the field and 50 percent from the three point line in games played Dec. 25 through Jan. 1.
He recorded four games with 30 or more point scored including a double-double 30 points and 11 rebounds in the Thunder's 104-102 win over the Mavericks Dec. 29.
The Miami Heat's LeBron James was named the Eastern Conference Players of the Week after he led league in scoring with 29.6 points per game.
Below is a recap of Durant's performances for the first week of the season.
Dec. 25 vs. Orlando: Tallied 30 points, six assists and five rebounds in a 97-89 win over the Magic.
Dec. 28 at Memphis: Posted 32 points, eight rebounds and two blocks in a 98-95 road victory over the Grizzlies.
Dec. 29 vs. Dallas: Recorded a 30-point, 11-rebound double-double in a 104-102 home win over the Mavericks.
The Thunder is back in action Jan. 3 against Portland at 7 p.m.
