The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has identified the semi driver who was killed in a collision on Interstate 35 in Oklahoma City Friday afternoon.
The fatality crash happened at 12:46 p.m. Friday, on I-35 northbound near Northeast 122nd Street in Oklahoma City. Fifty-four-year-old Martin Alba of Riverside, California was pronounced dead at the scene due to head, arm, leg, internal and external trunk injuries suffered in the wreck.
OHP says a 1999 Peterbilt semi driven by 56-year-old Randy Edwards of Waurika, Oklahoma was traveling southbound on I-35 when it suddenly veered into the northbound lanes, crashing into another semi driven by Alba, and a car driven by 66-year-old Linda Lane.
Alba was thrown out of his semi and landed about 20 feet from the vehicle.
Edwards was taken to St. Anthony Hospital and admitted in stable condition with head and internal trunk injuries.
Lane, the driver of the car, was not injured.
Troopers said Alba was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The cause of this collision is still under investigation.
