Police Seek Bold Edmond Burglar

Edmond police need help tracking down a bold burglar who is breaking into cars. Police say the suspect steals wallets, purses and other valuables without a trace.

From the YMCA to daycares to the dog park, a bold brazen man is out for cash and he is breaking into cars in broad daylight to get it.

"He will continue because this is easy money for him," Glynda Chu of Edmond Police said.

Edmond police say the thief is quick and he steals based on opportunity.

"They got my social security number which was in there and all my credit cards, drivers license everything," Elizabeth Listen said.

The thief got everything in her Escalade in a matter of minutes. She said she isn't changing up her routine, but is looking out.

"Don't let yourself be a victim to this guy. Don't leave your valuables inside your vehicle. If you have to leave your valuables in your vehicle make sure you put it in the trunk before you get to your location," Chu said.

A witness saw a heavyset Caucasian man about 250 pounds jump into a gold minivan with Florida license plates.
