OKLAHOMA CITY - Planners of Oklahoma City's proposed $130-million streetcar system are giving us an early look at the route they are planning.

Money to build the system comes out of the existing MAPS3 penny sales tax that has funded other city projects.

The proposed route extends from Deep Deuce, across the Walnut Street Bridge through Bricktown. There it would link up with Bricktown's historic Santa Fe Station. Streetcars would continue through downtown and midtown, all the way to St. Anthony's Hospital.

"The streetcar is the one thing that will link these all together and unify them and make sure they will grow together," said Streetcar planning committee member, Mark Gibbs.

City Council could vote on the proposed route as early as next week.
