Metro children and families learned some important numbers to live by on Saturday.
The 5210 campaign kicked off downtown at the Myriad Botanical Gardens with a family friendly event, Saturday. The campaign focuses on behaviors targeted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control as priorities for obesity prevention and control.
It teaches people how to live by four simple principles, five or more fruits and vegetables, two hours or less of screen time, one hour or more of physical activity and zero sweetened drinks.
"We've all gotten really used to drinking sodas and having those excess calories and being able to take some real simple steps to eliminate those extra calories are really going to help us start to turn the corner to improving the health of our kids," said Angela Jones with the YMCA.
