A 77-year-old pizza delivery man was attacked while doing his job. And police say it might have been a set-up.
A group of men attacked him from behind, stabbed him, and now he is severely injured.
Edward Hackett is recovering at OU Medical where doctors list him in fair condition, but it was touch and go for a bit. His attackers only got away with 20 bucks.
Hackett was trying to deliver a pizza to apartment 616, when no one answered the door, he went back to his car where three men jumped him.
Tina Jacobs lives upstairs. She and her boyfriend heard the commotion outside and when they found out the man was stabbed, they were shocked, especially having a young child at home.
Folks living at the apartment complex showed us this letter that was posted on their doors this morning warning residents of the recent crime.
Police still don't have any suspect information about who might have done this. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (405)-235-7300.
Hackett's family says he will remain in the hospital for several more days recovering from his stab wounds.
They say the knife hit his lung and liver.
