Edmond Police are searching for a man and woman suspected of breaking into a woman's house, swiping her purse, and using the victim's debit card to go on a shopping spree.
The victim told police someone broke into her house in the 200 block of E. Edwards near N. Boulevard and E. Ayers Street. The woman said it happened in the middle of the night while she was asleep.
The victim said the suspects came in through an unlocked back door and took her purse, which was sitting on a table. The victim said she called the bank a few hours after her purse was stolen, and discovered the suspects had already withdrawn several hundred dollars from her account, and purchased items from Wal-Mart, Sam's and 7-Eleven.
Police were able to obtain surveillance video from the Wal-Mart. They released a picture showing the man and woman suspected of using the victim's stolen debit card. The man was wearing a black tank top, black shorts, flip flops and an orange OSU baseball cap. The woman was wearing a black tank top, what appears to be pajama pants, and flip flops.
Police say the woman appears to be pregnant.
The two were driving a dark gray, four-door Chevy Impala or Malibu-type vehicle. Anyone with information about the case is urged to call the Edmond Police Department.
