MACU Women's Soccer Players Named To Capitol One Academic All-District Team

Senior Julia Nimal and Junior Michelle Medina have each been selected to the Capitol One Academic All-District VII squad.

This award is voted on by CoSIDA members (College Sports Information Directors of America) and the requirements are the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in athletic standing, have appeared in at least 50 percent of the season's athletic contests and maintained at least a 3.4 grade-point-average.

Nimal, a senior forward out of Owasso, Okla., carries a 3.59 GPA in Behavioral Science. She has dished out a team-best seven assists this season along with six goals scored. Last year, Nimal set the school's point record (38) since joining the NAIA on 14 goals and 10 assists.

Medina has scored one goal along with one assist, including the game-winning score against Southwestern (Kan.) College (9/15/12). She is a Business Administration major and is carrying a 3.85 GPA.

The duo will try to help the Lady Evangels advance in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Friday at Oklahoma Baptist University at 3 p.m. in Shawnee, Okla.
