Former Oklahoma City pharmacist Jerome Ersland could be in more trouble after a prison visit this past weekend.

Sources tell News 9, Jerome Ersland's son Jeff tried to smuggle pain relievers into a visiting room at the Joseph Harp Correctional Facility.

We are learning Jeff Ersland gave his dad two pain relieving patches. It is unclear if the patches were previously prescribed to Jerome, but News 9 is told prison officials discovered the patches on Ersland while conducting an "after-visitor search."

Both Jerome and Jeff allegedly admitted to prison investigators they exchanged the patches.

Ersland's Attorney Doug Friesen tells News 9 he is aware of what he called "An unfortunate misguided incident".

In a response to our inquiries, Friesen said, "I believe it was an attempt Jeff made to relieve some of his father's pain since Jerome has been taken off all pain medications while at the facility. Obviously it was not the right thing to do."
