Aaryn Ellenberg put on a show Thursday night; scoring 27 points to lead the Oklahoma women's basketball team to a dominant 70-46 win over UC Riverside.
Ellenberg was 6-8 from behind the arc, while also dishing out four assists, collecting three rebounds and committing no turnovers.
Nicole Griffin's 18 points helped carry the load for the Sooners (9-2) as they improved to 1-1 in the two games since Whitney Hand's season-ending injury.
UC Riverside (6-4) was led by Tre'Shonti Nottingham's 14 points, eight rebounds and seven steals. Natasha Hadley also chipped in 12 points and six boards for the Highlanders.
Perhaps the biggest difference in the game was the three-point shooting. OU shot an impressive 9-19 from downtown, while UC Riverside struggled to a 0-11 mark. The Sooners also held the assist advantage over the Highlanders, 19-6.
OU is now off for the holiday break but will resume play Dec. 29 against Cal State Northridge at 1:00 p.m.
