A man accused of stealing cigarettes from an Edmond grocery store is behind bars.
Police pulled 49-year-old Lonnell Wrenn over for a broken taillight on January 11 in the 1200 block of North Fretz. Wrenn reportedly refused to give police his correct information and identity. He was then taken into custody for obstructing an officer, and was booked into the Edmond Jail.
One officer at the jail noticed that Wrenn's vehicle matched the car of a suspect who stole cigarettes from an Edmond Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market, located at 1301 E. 2nd Street.
According to police, on December 26, 2012, the suspect went behind the service counter at the store and stole six cartons of cigarettes valued at $348.78.
On January 1, officers responded to a similar incident at the same store, where the suspect reportedly stole several cartons of cigarettes. The person who reported the crime said this was the same suspect who had stolen cigarettes in December, 2012 at the store.
Wrenn is charged with two cigarette larceny incidents.
