Oklahoma City Police have arrested a man accused of downloading child pornography using the shared internet connection at an apartment complex.

A tenant at the apartment complex in the 700 block of N.W. 30th Street began experiencing problems with his Playstation game system. He contacted the complex's computer expert, who warned him to be careful if he used the shared network because another tenant, identified as 38-year-old Jason Cook, had been viewing child pornography.

The tenant called the landlord to report the child porn, and the landlord called police on January 27. The landlord told officers he planned to evict Cook, but he didn't have any evidence that he's the one who actually viewed the illegal images.

Officers spoke to the complex's computer expert, who said Cook was the only person on the network who used a Windows computer, and that's the computer that had viewed the child porn. The tech expert said the next time the illegal images were viewed, he could capture a screen shot of the evidence and send it to police.

Police advised the landlord not to evict Cook, and not to say anything about the child pornography. When investigators received the evidence from the computer expert a few days later, they arrested Cook.

Cook was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on a complaint of possession of child pornography.
