Oklahoma Baptist posted 19 runs in a doubleheader sweep of Bethany Tuesday, winning 10-4 and 9-1.

Jeff Johnson led the team with five RBI on the day.

Richard Lucas (1-1) picked up the win in the opener, going five innings, while Jesus Carlos and Brandon Willard pitched one scoreless frame each.

The Bison set the tone with a five-run first inning, including an RBI double by Mason Ankeney, a two-run double by Jeff Johnson, an RBI single by Kevin Hatch and an RBI fielder's choice by Anthony Almonte.

OBU made it 9-1 in the third on two-run home runs by Hatch and Mitch Warne.

Greg Nelson scored the final run in the fourth, coming in on a double-play grounder by Johnson.

OBU had eight hits in the game, including two each by Nelson and Hatch.

Eric Fredrick (1-0) got the win in the second game, going six innings and collecting seven strikeouts while Carlos spun another scoreless inning in relief.

After falling behind 1-0, the Bison took the lead in the bottom of the first on an RBI triple by Ankeney and an RBI fielder's choice by Johnson.

OBU made it 3-1 in the second on an RBI double by Warne.

Two more Bison runs crossed in the fourth when Ankeney was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Johnson provided another RBI fielder's choice.

The last four OBU runs came around in the sixth on an RBI double by Johnson, an RBI single by Hatch, a sacrifice fly by Garrett Roberts and a wild pitch.

Yael Colon had three hits to pace the 12-hit OBU attack, while Rafael Villar and Warne contributed two hits each.

Now 6-5, the Bison host Evangel at 2 p.m., Friday.
