Senior Cowboy wrestler Jordan Oliver has been named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week for his performance over the weekend at the NWCA National Duals finals.
Oliver finished the weekend 3-0 in Minneapolis, Minn., all against ranked opponents. In the quarterfinals, Oliver pinned No. 19 Caleb Ervin of Illinois in 58 seconds. In the semifinals, he faced Missouri's No. 14 Drake Houdashelt and won by a 15-5 major decision. In his final match against Minnesota, Oliver put up three of the Cowboys' nine points with a 6-4 decision over No. 11 Dylan Ness.
The Easton, Pa., native is undefeated with a 28-0 mark on the season and a 17-0 record in dual action. He picked up his 13th pin and eighth win by major decision over the weekend, and has earned 80 dual points for OSU this season. Oliver has a career record of 111-6.
It is Oliver's first weekly award of the season and sixth of his career.
