We have good news to report about a Norman woman who got a 48-hour shut off notice from OG&E on Thursday.

Roverna Taylor, 62, is an Army veteran who lives on a fixed income. Last fall she began receiving notices from OG&E that she owed hundreds of dollars for an address from which she'd never heard.

Taylor says her nephew and his wife at the time used Roverna's social security number, without her knowledge, to open an OG&E account several months ago. They accumulated almost $1,400 in debt then fled, leaving Roverna holding the bag.

"I was sick to my stomach," she said. "I don't know how people can live like that and do that to people."

Friday, just a day after she received that shut off notice from OG&E, the Oklahoma Utility changed course.  They aren't going after Roverna anymore for that $1,400.  They are going after who is really responsible.

"What they did to me, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night," she said.

Since our first story on this aired Thursday night, three people contacted News 9 wanting to help Roverna with the debt.  One of them is an Army veteran who offered, not knowing Roverna also served in the Army.
