An already-detonated explosive device thrown into the Bethany High School parking lot Friday afternoon has been determined as a Potato Launcher, according to authorities.
The device was discovered near the gym. Because the device detonated before it was thrown into the parking lot, no one was hurt.
Police are searching the area just to make sure there's no threat.
High school students are usually released at 3:10 p.m., but the school was on lockdown.
The nearby Bethany Children's Center Hospital was briefly on lockdown, but that was lifted just before 3:30 p.m.
The early childhood center and elementary school are releasing students early.
