Surgeons say it's hard to say exactly when Russell Westbrook will be back on the court because they won't know the exact procedure needed until they get a look inside the knee with arthroscopic surgery.

Thunder star Point Guard Russell Westbrook goes down in game two against the Houston Rockets with an apparent injured knee. The Thunder confirms he suffered a torn lateral meniscus on his right knee, requiring surgery.

Doctor Michael Kiehn has performed hundreds of these surgeries and says recovery time all depends on where the meniscus was torn.

Kiehn warns it's important to fully fix the current injury. If it doesn't heal properly, they will be more problems down the road and perhaps more serious.

Kiehn says he's confident Westbrook will make a full recovery and could heal a little bit quicker because he can dedicate more time to rehab than a non-athlete would. But he says it's a wait and see until Westbrook actually has the surgery.
