Police arrest a suspected drunken driver after witnesses said he crashed his truck into a pole in the parking lot of an Oklahoma City Walmart.
Around 10 p.m. Friday, June 7, police arrived at Northwest Expressway and Council to investigate a possibly intoxicated driver. They found Joshua Cloud, 24, sitting in his truck, which had crashed into a light pole.
Police immediately detected the smell of alcohol on Cloud. He also had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. When they asked him what happened, he said he accidentally crashed into the pole. He also admitted to drinking "a couple beers."
Two of Cloud's children -- whose ages were not made available -- were with him in the truck. They were both unrestrained during the crash and sustained multiple lacerations on their faces when they hit the windshield. The kids were taken by ambulance to be treated for their injuries.
Police had Cloud perform three sobriety tests. He failed all of them. Police arrested him and booked him into the Oklahoma County jail for DUI and child endangerment.
