Oklahoma State's women's soccer team was picked to finish fourth in the 2013 Big 12 Conference standings in a vote of the league's head coaches.
OSU received 40 total points from the coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own team. Defending champion West Virginia was picked to win the league, with Texas Tech and Baylor rounding out the top three.
After the Cowgirls at No. 4, Kansas, Texas, TCU, Oklahoma and Iowa State round out the poll.
Coach Colin Carmichael's squad was the Big 12 preseason favorite last season but finished seventh with a 1-4-3 conference mark. The Cowgirls have won five Big 12 titles, with two of those coming in the regular season (2008, 2011).
OSU returns eight starters from a year ago including Preseason All-Big 12 midfielder Kristen Kelley. The Cowgirls open regular season play at Tennessee-Martin on Aug. 23.
