The Oklahoma City Thunder will play a pair of home games at Chesapeake Energy Arena while hosting contests in both Tulsa, Okla., and Wichita, Kan., as part of a seven-game preseason schedule leading up to the 2013-14 NBA regular season, the team announced today.
As previously announced, the Thunder will take part in the NBA's Global Games slate of contests beginning with an Oct. 5 matchup in Istanbul, Turkey against five-time Turkish champion Fenerbahce Ulker and then followed by an Oct. 8 meeting versus the Philadelphia 76ers in Manchester, England.
Oklahoma City opens its domestic preseason schedule at Chesapeake Energy Arena on Oct. 15 with a meeting versus the Denver Nuggets before facing off against the New Orleans Pelicans on Oct. 17 at the BOK Center during the team's fifth annual trip to Tulsa, Okla.
The Thunder will host its second and final preseason contest at Chesapeake Energy Arena on Oct. 20 when the Utah Jazz make the trip to Oklahoma City. The Thunder concludes preseason play with a back-to-back, starting with a road contest in Phoenix versus the Suns on Oct. 22 and followed by an Oct. 23 meeting against the Chicago Bulls at the INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kan.
Several of the Thunder's preseason games will be televised, beginning with the international games in Istanbul and Manchester on NBA-TV. The Thunder's contest on Oct. 17 versus New Orleans will be carried on Fox Sports Oklahoma and the club's preseason finale on Oct. 23 against Chicago will be aired on ESPN with an updated start time of 8:30 p.m. (CT). All preseason games can be heard on the Thunder Radio Network, led by flagship WWLS (98.1 FM) in Oklahoma City.
