Dozens of squad cars were in pursuit of a recreational vehicle on the Kilpatrick Turnpike late Thursday. The chase ended with officers' guns drawn near County Line Road around 8:30 p.m.

The driver, Richard Tarver, was still in the Oklahoma County Jail as of late Friday. Witness Bryce Everett shot cell phone video of the chase as it was nearing an end near MacArthur Boulevard. An army of officers eventually caught Tarver after pursuing him for more than 30 minutes.

"He had to be on drugs or something," said Rockwell RV Park owner David Miller. "I can't imagine anybody in their right mind doing what he's done."

Tarver's pursuit started at Miller's RV park, 12 miles south from where the pursuit ended. Surveillance video showed Tarver's RV moments before it plowed into one of Miller's brick columns. The chase covered some of the busiest highways in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area.

Officers were in the process of serving five arrest warrants on Tarver relating to drugs and credit card fraud when Tarver decided to drive away, according to an Oklahoma City police report. Along the Kilpatrick near the Canadian County line, guns were drawn as Tarver and his female companion surrendered to officers. The chase left behind a mess and an extra bill at Miller's RV park.

"I'd like to thank the police department for doing their job and catching this guy," said Miller. " … next time he might've killed somebody."

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority told News 9 traffic was tied up for about 10 minutes following the chase. Tarver faced six new criminal complaints including eluding police, reckless driving and destruction of property as of late Friday.
