Wilburton Man Killed In Latimer County ATV Wreck

A man from Wilburton, Okla. was killed after he crashed his four-wheeler in Latimer County Saturday night.

A man from Wilburton, Okla. was killed after he crashed his four-wheeler in Latimer County Saturday night.

It happened just before 11 p.m. Saturday, on Hulsey Prairie Road, three miles east of State Highway 2.

A Honda four-wheeler driven by 43-year-old David Kibart was westbound on Hulsey Prairie Road traveling too fast for a curve when it ran off the roadway, struck a ditch, overturned and ejected Kibart, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol collision report.

Kibart was pronounced dead at the scene from massive head injuries.

As stated in the OHP collision report, Kibart was not wearing a helmet at the time of the wreck.

The Latimer County Sheriff's Department assisted the Oklahoma Highway Patrol with this investigation.
